Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to use this site and buy from us. The visual style is deliberately noisy — grain, scanlines, glitches — so we've built it so that none of that gets in the way.
What we've done
- Every visual effect (grain, scanlines, tracking bar, glitch text, the ticker, and video autoplay) is switched off automatically when your system has "reduce motion" enabled.
- All decorative overlays are hidden from screen readers and don't intercept clicks or taps.
- Text meets WCAG 2.1 AA contrast against the background. The VCR-style display text is decorative; the same information is available as regular text.
- Everything works with a keyboard: a skip link, visible focus states, and no keyboard traps. The video has pause and sound controls.
- Forms have real labels, and error messages are announced.
- The size chart and all policy text are plain HTML, not images.
Still working on
Product photography (with alt text) is coming with the first units. Captions or a transcript for the bump video will be added when it has dialogue — right now it's music only.
